Cardboard Grannies are a painstakingly familiar sight throughout Hong Kong, a metropolitan city rife with a growing wealth gap and an aging population who has limited means in getting by. This frail, elderly woman represents the thousands others who silently rid our streets of waste cardboard, often seen strenuously pushing carts laden with mountains of carton, wading through heavy traffic and sidewalks - yet, they are also painfully invisible in society.
