The Hong Kong film industry was jolted to new life with the release of Infernal Affairs, an epic crime thriller that redefined the undercover genre with its gripping saga of two rival moles who navigate between Hong Kong’s police force and its criminal underworld in a deadly game of cat-and-mouse. In this reimagined, improvised, climatic interrogation scene, the criminal mastermind violently swipes his lavish seafood feast in a burst of rage. Infernal Affairs became the first Hong Kong production to be remade into a Hollywood studio film.
